Introducing Machine Ebroidery
One Day Class
This class introduces you to the basics of free machine embroidery. Experiment with the approach most suited to you and your machine. We look at the adjustments made to your sewing machine, needle types, the most suitable threads and create a variety of textures and effects from very simple stitches.
Advanced Machine Embroidery
One Day Class
This class builds on the Introductory Machine Embroidery Class but this time we got a little bit further! We experiment with thicker threads to produce "cornelli" like effects. We will experiment with techniques such as cording and cabling. Bottom and top tensions will be altered to produce the very delicate effects. Don't be nervous about altering the tension settings.
Sculpting
One Day Class
In this class students manipulate fabrics to create three dimensional sculptured pieces suitable to be incorporated into their embroidery work. A variety of three dimensional leaves and flowers will be shaped in traditional and non traditional ways. Examples will be stitched with machine embroidery for more exciting and innovative results.
